1MO Prognostic and biologic significance of HER2-low expression in early breast cancer

چکیده

Approximately 50% of HER2-negative breast cancers (BC) show HER2-low expression. It is unclear however whether BC should be considered an individual biologic entity, prognostically distinct from HER2-zero BC. Data were collected institutional database including all consecutive patients with who underwent surgery at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center 1/2016 to 3/2021. Tumors defined as if they had a HER2 IHC score 1+ or 2+ negative FISH, and 0. Clinicopathologic characteristics disease outcomes compared between the two cohorts. 5235 eligible for analysis; 4429 estrogen receptor (ER)+, 67 ER-low (1-9%), 739 ER-negative. Hormone receptor(HR)-expression was significantly more common among (89.9% vs 80.9%, p<0.001). Most other clinicopathological differences explained by different rate HR+ tumors. When evaluated continuous variable, ER expression associated (p<0.001), tumors increased progressively increasing (Table). Among receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (n=657), those higher pCR rates (27% 17%, p=0.002). However, statistical difference lost when separately analyzing (8% 14%, p=0.078), (25% 38.9%, p=0.46), without (6.9% 10.4%, p=0.277), TNBC (30.8% 35.4%, p=0.40) adjusting confounders. Identification of Prognostic Genes in Her2-enriched Breast Cancer by Gene Co-Expression Net-work Analysis

Introduction: HER2-enriched subtype of breast cancer has a worse prognosis than luminal subtypes. Recently, the discovery of targeted therapies in other groups of breast cancer has increased patient survival. The aim of this study was to identify genes that affect the overall survival of this group of patients based on a systems biology approach. Methods: Gene expression data and clinical infor...

Prognostic Significance of Low Claudin3 Expression in Luminal Breast Cancers

Aim To study the prognostic value of immunohistochemically detected low Claudin3 expression in breast cancers. Methods This retrospective study included patients with breast cancer who were investigated at our unit from 2006 to 2015. Tissue microarrays were constructed, and immunohistochemical staining was done to assess the Claudin3 expression and to classify breast cancers according to the ...

Tissue Expression of Prohibition-I and Its Relationship With Prognostic Factors in Breast Cancer

Background & objective: Globally, breast cancer is the most common malignancy among females. Prohibition (PHB)-I, a homologous protein, was initially introduced as a suppressor gene for amplification process. Further, the protein has a key role in the cell cycle and is capable of inhibiting DNA transcription in many cell types. Therefore, its possible role in different...

Prognostic Significance of Deregulated Dicer Expression in Breast Cancer

BACKGROUND Dicer, an RNase III-type endonuclease, is the key enzyme involved in RNA interference and microRNA pathways. Aberrant expression of Dicer is reported in several human cancers. Our aim was to assess the prognostic role of Dicer in breast cancer. METHODS The entire series comprised 666 invasive breast cancers (IBCs), 480 DCIS cases (397 associated with IBC and 83 pure DCIS) and 305 l...
